‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’ (John 3:16) Jesus Christ was nailed to the cross and sacrificed for us, reflecting the Lord’s love for us and the importance he attaches to us. However, humans hate each other and even regard lower social status and poor people as goods, using various bullying methods such as coercion, abduction and deception to trade and sell people on the global market.
Today, human trafficking and forced labour have become major global issues, growing at an alarming rate. According to the 2024 Global Report on Trafficking in Persons by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), it is estimated that 27 million people worldwide have been trafficked. Furthermore, according to the International Labour Organization (ILO), approximately 28 million people globally are victims of forced labour. CEDAR promotes fighting against human trafficking in different developing countries to help victims of human trafficking and the poor at risk of being trafficked in different directions of rescue, prosecution, recovery and prevention.
