Project Objectives
  • Enhance the resilience of the local community to the impacts of climate change by improving their farming and fishing skills and introducing the concept of disaster preparedness.
  • Promote church and community mobilisation by facilitating leaders to be active in rural community development with a holistic approach.
  • Foster collaboration and enhance work standards within the target groups.

Key Activities
  • Children and Youth Development: Provide scholarships and organise youth camps with training on children’s rights, anti-human trafficking, and essential life skills.
  • Health, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): Conduct awareness training, construct public bathrooms and drinking water systems, and provide emergency medical funds.
  • Livelihood and Economic Development: Supply seedlings and fish fingerlings, organise agrofishery study trips, transfer knowledge and skills on seed conservation and fish and fruit propagation, and establish women’s groups for food processing and preservation.
  • Leadership and Network Building: Hold leadership meetings to discuss community plans, project implementation, reviews, and reflections.
  • Church and Community Mobilisation: Establish working networks, model families, and agricultural learning centres within the community and church.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Community Empowerment: Equip model families and local churches to train village trainers, and document indigenous knowledge and practices in rural community development among the Lahu people.
  • Disaster Preparedness: Strengthen community resilience to disasters.
