Beneficiary Story – a goat that transforms life
Takudzwa lives in a poor village in Zimbabwe. His mother has passed away, and his father has a severe illness. Hence, he became the breadwinner in the family to take care of his father and three younger siblings at the young age of 21. Takudzwa is not highly educated. All he could do to earn a living was some piece jobs. His life had not been fruitful until he joined the ‘Goar Pass On’ programme, which we work with a local partner Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe. Life transformation took place.
In the programme, Takudzwa was given a goat. The goat sustained Takudzwa’s livelihood with goat’s milk, wool, and goat manure, an excellent source of plant nutrients.
Having a goat was the turning point in Takudzwa’s life.
A goat represents a family’s wealthy status in Zimbabwe, and I feel that I am now at the same level as others in the community. Recently, I have built a goat cell at home. It felt so good to make the cell because this is new to me, and I’m very excited about the future that looks bright for my family and me.
It does not take a vast amount of money to transform lives. A little gift as small as a goat can help people like Takudzwa so much. So let’s act in the lovely season, donate to make the poor joyful.
