Project Objectives
  • To alleviate heath, WAter, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) deprivation among communities in the settlement.
  • To enhance financial stability and child nutrition in climate migrant households.

Key Activities

WASH

  • Rehabilitate non-operational drinking water points, set up hand washing facilities & install community bins for waste segregation;
  • Train community leaders on the maintenance and operation of community WASH facilities, Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction;
  • Set up and mobilise girl adolescent clubs to promote hygiene practices in the settlement;
  • Support vulnerable families with water filters and household hygiene kits;
  • Mitigate the risks and impacts of natural disasters, especially floods, in the settlement through pre-emptive initiatives like tree plantation, community-based disaster reduction plan & continency fund.

Livelihood

  • Establish Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and disseminate knowledge on financial literacy, saving and loans, disaster resilience, etc.;
  • Support SHG members in diversifying their income and adopting climate-resilient Income Generating Activities (IGA) through skills training, material support, and seed funds for collective business plans.

Child Nutrition

  • Organise ‘Mobile Kitchen Campaigns’ for caregivers to promote healthy and nutritious diets comprising of locally available ingredients;
  • Provide nutrient-rich food packages for 30 at-risk children.
