Established in 1991, CEDAR Fund is an independent Christian relief and development organisation serving those in poverty in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, with a vision to build a just and compassionate world. In addition to running projects on community development, anti-human trafficking, children and youth development, education, as well as disaster relief, CEDAR also advocates for justice and promotes the living out of Integral Mission among the Christian community.

CEDAR is currently searching for qualified persons to fill the positions below. Details are as follows:

Head of Programme

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  1. Oversee the Programme Department’s relief and development programmes and lead a team of co-workers to achieve the department’s objectives for holistic mission and transformational development in poor communities
  2. Develop and build relationships with overseas field partners to implement development and relief programmes and to facilitate partners’ work through coaching and capacity building
  3. Collaborate with a global alliance of Christian NGOs for humanitarian relief work
  4. Travel and visit field partners in developing countries to understand contexts and build relationships and to monitor and evaluate programmes
  5. Work with the Partnership Development Department to share programmatic information and support fundraising efforts
  6. Share partners and programme updates with churches, schools, and other organisations where needed
  7. Report to the Chief Executive and serve on the Senior Leadership Team

Key Requirements:

  1. Committed to implementing the vision, mission, and operational principles of CEDAR Fund
  2. Undergraduate or above, preferably with a major in International Development, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
  3. At least five years of working experience in international development, including implementing or monitoring programmes in developing countries, with at least two years in a leadership role
  4. Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop team members and enhance teamwork
  5. Independent, self-motivated, with good communication and cross-cultural skills
  6. Willing to travel on a regular basis, including to high-risk areas
  7. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin
  8. Theological training strongly preferred

Work Location: Kwun Tong

Schedule: Monday to Friday (working outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally)
